To make the drinks, use iced water – they taste far better.  You can choose whether you mix them with 250 mls up to 500 mls.  A shaker or Tupperware container with a lid is best. Just add 1/3 of the fluid, plus an ice cube or two, add the powder, mix vigorously (this could add to your daily exercise as well as your walk) then add the rest of the water and shake again.  It is trial and error to your taste and liking.

Soups can also be made from 250 mls to 500 mls.  Some people make them in a mug and like them thick and some like a full bowl and thinner consistency.  You can also cook up some of your free vegetables and add to your soup, to make it more filling.

The drinks seem to be liked best for breakfast, as they are quick, convenient and filling.

Bars are a great idea to carry in your bag for lunch or dinner, whenever you get ‘stuck’, so that you are never left short (oops I forgot – rats).  Some however, if they are on the road, have them every day for lunch.

If you are a dessert lover and need something sweet, you could have a bowl of vegies and follow it with a mousse.

There are flavours for all tastes, usually you will like some more than others.  Some you will love, others not.  We suggest that you go for your favourite flavours then experiment as you go along.  If you like however, you can try some of each and make your own mind up.

As much as we all love coffee, tea and coke, these all contain caffeine.  You may have a maximum of three a day only.  Your pancreas will pump out insulin when you drink caffeine so you will become very hungry.  This is not at all helpful!!!

The idea is to be in Ketosis, this will make your breath smell and your mouth taste YUK.  To avoid this or diminish this, chew sugar free gum, spray with alcohol free mouth sprays, gargle and rinse with mouthwash.  All will be helpful – but be glad, it means that you are winning.  Jacob’s Night and Day Decaf is a nice tasting alternative Instant Decaf if you should wish to try.

If hungry, water is your best friend – drink lots of it!!  If you are a poor water drinker, try having a sip cup by your desk or near you in the car, if that is where you are.

Try some baby spinach salad with your allowed dressing or a bit of vinegar, jut a bit different from lettuce. Many variations of “free salads” and balsamic vinegar (not the one with added sugar) is free as a sauce.
