Dr Memon is a general surgeon with specialist interest in gastrointestinal, laparoscopic and bariatric (obesity) surgery.

Dr Memon offers a wide range of general surgical procedures that encompass both open and minimally invasive techniques.

However, Dr Memon being vastly experienced offers, where appropriate, the safe and improved alternative of minimally invasive surgery to his patients.

General surgical procedures performed include laparoscopic hernia surgery, laparoscopic gallbladder surgery, laparoscopic antireflux surgery, laparoscopic and open colorectal surgery, open gastrectomies, laparoscopic bariatric surgery Dr Memon is a very experienced endoscopist who offers a full endoscopic service (gastroscopy and colonoscopy) being dually accredited with the Gastrointestinal Association of Australia. Dr Memon also offers select paediatric surgical procedures (circumcision, paediatric hernias).

Continuous professional development is very important to Dr Memon in his mission to provide the most up to date and evidence based practice to his patients.

His ongoing commitment to research including his keen involvement in teaching and examining both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels at various universities and with The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons; plays a significant role towards achieving this goal.

He is very well published and continues to actively participate in clinical research projects.

He is a well known figure on the presentation circuit both at local, regional and international medical forums. He is also affiliated with various surgical societies.
